2X2 Analysis

As part of secondary research, the team researched existing competitors in the travel industry and analyzed them by creating a 2X2 matrix. The team wanted to seek an opportunity from the highlighted area in which the proposed solution should be convenient and affordable.

Stakeholder Map

A stakeholder map was created to visualize the relationship between users and service providers. Among the four potential main user groups from the primary rim of the map, the team decided to focus on the Millennials and fashion enthusiasts and continued the process.

Interview Quotes

As part of the primary research, the team interviewed Millennial travelers and referenced some of their responses for further analysis.

Most interviewees felt overwhelmed with packing and paying extra for overweight luggage. Moreover, preparing new outfits before traveling was also considered another hassle.

Empathy Map & User Personas

The team analyzed interview data points by creating empathy maps and personas for the Millennials and fashion enthusiasts. This helped develop an in-depth understanding of user behavior and motivations in traveling and getting ready for their trip.

Value Proposition

The team worked on the value proposition to gauge how the solution should benefit and impact main users.

To synthesize insights and convert them into a solid solution, the team initially brainstormed ideas that were related to the chosen topic. The ideas were affinitized on a good & different matrix based on creativity, originality, and feasibility. Ideas located in the upper right quadrant were considered the most when developing a solution.

User Scenario

Three different user scenarios were developed that portrayed what would possibly happen while utilizing the solution. This activity helped the team to acknowledge which features must be included and to be prepared for any unexpected occasion that may hinder user experience.

Low-fi Prototyping & User Testing

After the analysis and synthesis of our research data, the team worked on low-fi prototypes and depicted key features. Several potential Millennial users were invited for usability testing. Based on their comments, the team analyzed what went well and what could have been better.

Final Solution

WearAbout manages traveler’s luggage wherever they go. The name as it suggests is a subtle play on the word “Whereabout”, which basically means the place where someone or something is.

The team wanted users to feel connected to the brand and have an easy understanding of what the service is and how it does.
